A worked example.
Suppose a session uses 9 kWh and your electricity costs €0.30 per kWh. The session then costs 9 × €0.30 = €2.70. These are example values, not measured Cube consumption or a current average tariff. Adjust both values to your situation.
Why does consumption vary?
Outside temperature, target temperature, warm-up time, session length and door opening affect consumption. The heater does not necessarily run continuously at full power while maintaining temperature. A calculation based only on maximum power can therefore differ from a real measurement.
Measure the whole sauna session.
Include both warm-up and use. If needed, ask an electrician about a suitable energy meter for the installation. Record kWh, outside temperature, target temperature and total duration. Several comparable sessions give a more useful picture of your own costs.
Frequently asked questions
Is kW the same as kWh?
No. kW is power; kWh is energy used. An appliance drawing 9 kW continuously for one hour uses 9 kWh. This is a calculation example, not a sauna-session forecast.
Does Welsa specify fixed consumption per session?
No. No established measured Cube consumption per session has been published. Use the calculator for your own readings or a clearly chosen example.
How do I calculate monthly costs?
Multiply the cost per session by the number of sessions each month. With 9 kWh, €0.30 per kWh and eight sessions, the example is €21.60. Use your own values for a personal calculation.
Can the app reduce consumption?
The included HUUM app lets you plan warm-up around use. No fixed saving has been established. Remote start requires internet and safety confirmation on the UKU controller.
