Installing an outdoor sauna: what does your garden need?

Suitable foundations, site access and prepared connections are the starting point. Welsa reviews your site in advance; our own team installs the preassembled Cube.

Level, load-bearing foundations.

All adjustable feet need firm support. A concrete slab, suitable individual slabs, a supported deck or an engineered point foundation may work. The right solution depends on soil and total load. Allow for drainage and ventilation beneath the floor.

Do not use exterior dimensions as a foundation plan: the feet occupy different positions. Welsa agrees the correct support points for your model in advance.

From the street to the garden.

Photos of the site and access route help with assessment. Include gates, trees, canopies and buildings. Lifting distance and setup space help determine the crane required. Crane hire is always charged separately; arrange it yourself or through Welsa.

Electricity, internet and any water services.

Have an electrician assess the power supply and connection. The HUUM DROP is wall-mounted; electrical preparation is not included in the sauna price. App control requires internet at the sauna. For the Cube 300, we also discuss shower-area services.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need permission for a garden sauna?

That depends on your site and building plans. Use the Omgevingsloket permit check and discuss any uncertainty with your municipality. Sauna dimensions alone do not establish whether construction is permit-free.

How much clearance is needed beneath a canopy?

The Cube 170, 200 and 240 need at least 260 cm installation clearance. The lifting route and working space are assessed separately. Have the requirements for the Cube 300 confirmed in advance.

How long does installation take?

Positioning the sauna and installing its equipment usually take 4–6 hours. Site preparation and additional work are outside that estimate.

Do I need to provide my full address immediately?

For an initial enquiry, start with country, postcode and what you know about the site. You can email site and access-route photos after the first contact.
